Not the finish we expected from the season-opener, as Dale Jr. and the Bud boys pack up to head home tonight from Daytona. The full race report is now online, and we head to the west coast for next week's action at Califonia Speedway from Fontana.
ANOTHER Correction: We jumped the gun last week and sent the preliminary report with Dale Jr. listed in 19th place in the Budweiser Shootout before the official report the next day showed him in 14th. Now, we've sent the race report with him shown 32nd in points - but that was before figuring the penalties to many of the other competitors, so Dale Jr. may rocket up the standings to somewhere around 29th or 30th when tomorrow's official results are posted. My bad. Egg on my face. Again. |
Need something to sooth the disappointment until next Sunday? Run out immediately and pick up Love is a Mix Tape (subtitled "Love and Loss One Song at a Time"). Rock critic Rob Sheffield's love story about the sudden loss of his wife and the music that defined their time together. I'm usually not the first in line for the stories of love and romance, but this is a heartfelt and beautifully written piece of work. If you've ever made a mix tape or shared your favorite music with someone you care about, this is for you. A must have. |
