The Budweiser team has improved their performance in the Chase more than any other team. Dale Jr’s driver rating – according to the complex new NASCAR stat loop data - is second among the Chase drivers in the last eight races with a rating of 105.5. (Johnson leads the points and also the driver ratings at 108.7.)
Junior’s season-long rating for all races is 94.9, which gives him an improvement of 10.6 points in the eight Chase races – the largest improvement of any Chase driver. Dale Jr. has led five of the last six races for 188 laps – nearly half of his season total of 397 laps led.
Quality Qualifying: Dale Jr’s season-long qualifying average is 19.82, but his average start in the Chase races is 13.75. He has qualified better than his season average at every Chase race – except Talladega. |
