The Nextel Cup season finale at Homestead will mark Dale Earnhardt Jr's 255th career start - and his 255th points race with Budweiser sponsorship. The day prior however, will be Junior's first start with Budweiser colors in the Busch Series. Dale Jr., a two-time champion with 22 career victories in only 90 Busch Series starts, will race the familiar red No. 8 Budweiser paint scheme for Dale Earnhardt Inc. in the Homestead 300 race to gain more information for their quest for a Nextel Cup title on Sunday. Dale Jr. has two victories this season in four Busch Series starts for DEI.
This is the 25th anniversary of Anheuser-Busch sponsorship of the NASCAR Busch Series with their Busch Beer brand.
Qualified Success: Dale Jr's fourth-place starting position for Sunday's race at Phoenix is his best starting spot of the season. (His previous best was three sixth-place starts.) Junior's average start in the first 26 races was 21.69, while his average in the nine Chase races has been 12.67. He has qualified better than his season-long average in each Chase race except Talladega.
