CommUnity is a life-long project but its development has been taking place as part of the activities of funded projects.

Current

This is an FET project (IST-2005-16004) on "Software Engineering for Service-Oriented Overlay Computers" that started in September 2005 and will run until the end of August 2006. CommUnity is being used as one of the formal frameworks in which the project is developing extensions to architectural design techniques to address service-oriented systems.

Past

This is an FET project (IST-2001-32747) on "Architectures for Mobility" that started in January 2002 and ran until the end of April 2005. CommUnity was used as one of the formal frameworks that the project adopted for defining new architectural design techniques that address distribution and mobility.

FAST – a 3-year project (July 2000 - June 2003) funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (project number POSI/32717/00) focused on the development of a Formal Approach to Software Architecture. CommUnity was used as the formal framework that supported this development.
