The Price of Gas in Iowa

A Serious Discussion

Mattbot: talk of the van the last week or so: http://www.kcrg.com/article.aspx?art_id=78993
.Frank: does that mean you have the scoop on where you might be able to get gas 4 - 6 cents cheaper?
.Frank: kansas maybe?
Mattbot: it would be worth the drive
Mattbot: if only we had a way of knowing
.Frank: thank god for our Bush tax cuts, that's all i can say
Mattbot: but hold on just a minute
Mattbot: let's assume that everytime we eastern iowans go to the pump we are paying an extra $2-3 more than we did a few weeks ago
Mattbot: THAT IS ONLY, LIKE, 100 OR 150 TANKS OF GAS THAT OUR TAX BREAK IS GOOD FOR
.Frank: I am with you so far
Mattbot: WE NEED MORE RELIEF
.Frank: another tax break?
Mattbot: if it comes to that, yes
Mattbot: those fat cats want to raise our taxes
.Frank: maybe we should look to ethanol for our relief?
Mattbot: i tried, those prices are going up too!
.Frank: because that is a technology that eastern iowans should really stand behind
Mattbot: we stand behind whatever's cheapest
Mattbot: and olive garden, we love olive garden
Mattbot: have you ever had their pasta?
Mattbot: mmmmmMMMMMM!
.Frank: I love their appetizers
.Frank: and salad
Mattbot: yeah but the pasta...
Mattbot: see they use this really hot water to cook it
.Frank: I think my microwave method is just about as good, but they must be doing SOMETHING right!
Mattbot: well that's the difference
Mattbot: i bet your pasta doesn't cost $9 either
.Frank: darn right it doesn't, although with prices at the hy-vee the way they are, it could be $9 before too long
Mattbot: bringing us full circle
Mattbot: they have gas stations at hy-vee now
.Frank: and sometimes those savings can save you a trip to kansas
Mattbot: *red curtain falls, standing ovation*
