Langendorf Scholarship Winner 2004-2005

My name is Steve Henes and I am 18 years old. I live with my parents, John and Diana Henes, and I have one brother, Dan. I attended Washington Park High School for all four years of my high school career. While in high school, I participated in sports for all four years. I played football my freshman and sophomore years and basketball and baseball my freshman through senior years. I also have been a member of Student Government and Positive Impact for my four years of high school and in the Spanish Club for my senior year. I have also been on honor roll for all four years.

In my free time I participate on a traveling baseball team, of which I played since I was nine years old. I have also participated in volunteer activities such as Youth Alive, Teens Against Tobacco Use, and other various community groups (Kiwanis, Downtown Racine Corporation). I currently work at Lee’s Deli and will begin summer employment with the City of Racine as a playground leader. I will attend the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in the fall where I will study education.
