A very religious town!
Chartres is a town and commune in France. It is located 96 km southwest of Paris in central France. I had heard about it from my colleagues, so I wanted to see it. With some friends we went there for a couple of hours, and we had lots of fun! :o)

Cathédrale Notre-Dame of Chartres, is considered one of the finest examples of the Gothic style of architecture, in all France.
Begun in the 12th century under the driving influence of the local bishop, the cathedral established several new architectural features never seen before.
Pioneered new techniques for construction at high elevations above ground, Before this, nothing had ever been built at such heights.
The Cathedral was neither destroyed nor looted during the French Revolution and the numerous restorations have not altered its glorious beauty. It always stayed the same: a triumph of Gothic art.
There were some beautiful stained glass windows in this cathedral. Several of the windows were donated by royalty, such as this rose window , which was a gift from the French queen Blanche of Castile.
It was so big & so beautiful,... It's difficult to express my feelings,... it was so huge. Every details, every touches, every angles was something ... something that attracts your eyes and has a lot of history behind it.
When I was searching about this cathedral in the Internet, I found an interesting quote and I like to put it here, In the film 'Two for the Road', Albert Finney's character said to his wife:
"Nobody knows the names of the men who made it. To make something as exquisite as this without wanting to smash your stupid name all over it. All you hear about nowadays is people making names, not things."
Just very small sample of different patterns on the wall of cathedral!
Another view inside of Cathedral.
In the afternoon there was a religious ceremony; this was the first time for me seeing a group of choral sang a very beautiful song!
...
Back of the Cathedral (Ground area: 10,875 square meters, Height of south-west tower: 105 meters, Height of north-west tower: 113 meters.)
Fabrice!, I would like to see this photo! ;o)
A typical alley in Chartres.
As for many countries with long history, in France, every city possesses a unique architecture ...
Personally, I admire the their taste in architecture.

Shaahin, whenever I see these moves and touches in architecture here, I remember you and your work, French architecture has inspired you a lot.
Two (somewhat symmetric) narrow doors; I was wondering how a hefty person could enter this house! ;o)
It is beautiful, isn’t it? :o))
This was nice touch from the owner of house, but a little dangerous,...
No comments! ;o)))
Woman behind a window.
Located at the center of the town, this Canal made the town adorable!

A very quiet alley!
The city with its three Cathedrals.
“Les trois chevets”!
Saint-Pierre church.
It was a nice sunny day.
Eglise Saint-Aignan
Regarded as the oldest parish church of the city, the church was founded around 400 by St. Aignan, bishop of Chartres.
It was the first time I was seeing a church like that, I mean all the wall full of color and patterns, was really nice.
I don't know why this photo reminds me of the Harry Potter movies ... Specially the lady that sit on that chamber.
One of my favorite photos, this car and its position was really irresistible! Everybody was taking photos of it.
This is in our way back to the train station :o) You can see the Cathédrale Notre-Dame; from this shot, you get a better idea of how big it is.
Julien is taking nape in the train, He was so kind to let me use his lens most of the time, I really enjoyed it,...
