Whiteout is FINALLY coming out

whiteout_ver3
Remember last year when I was up in Canada working on Whiteout at Mr. X?
Well at long last, Whiteout is finally coming out in theaters next week. The trailer actually looks interesting, and the billboards are all over Los Angeles. Even my neighbors are hearing about this movie. It’s kinda nice to have a buzz going on about a movie that one year felt like it was going to get shelved.

State of Play on DVD and Blu-Ray

I never saw this movie. I don’t even know what it’s about. But it’s got Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe. Plus I did some monitor comps in it.

Land of the Lost on DVD and Blu-Ray

B002IKIHEG.01.LZZZZZZZ

So you missed Land of the Lost in theaters? Along with everyone else in the country...? Well now is your chance to see the movie, no one else did. Land of the Lost comes out next month on DVD, and despite all the bad press this movie got, I have to say that I enjoyed this movie more so than a lot of other movies I’ve worked on. Yeah it’s silly and bad, but that’s part of the fun. At least I think so.

Here’s a ringing endorsement from a planted reviewer on ain’t it cool news: “I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie! I will be doing bong hits and watching this DVD on repeat for years to come.”

Now I’m not condoning anything... I’m just saying...

Oh yeah...

I’ve been working at Rhythm and Hues since November of 2008. I guess I forgot to mention that.

While there, I’ve worked on State of Play, which was released today, and another project which will be released in coming months.

Although I've been extremely busy with Whiteout, I have been given a couple cool shots to work on for Death Race, which I'm pretty excited about, since this movie was the main reason I came up to Canada in the first place. I'll only have one or two shots, but they are cool and I get to make some missiles make things go BOOM!!!!

Death Race

Looks like I'll be working on a couple shots for the upcoming Sequel/Remake/Reboot after all.....

AWWWWWW YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

In non-VFX news, I entered a screenplay competition at Storypros.com, and landed a Second place spot in the Family Category for my script, Mittens.

Mittens in the story about a lonely, high school prodigy, who struggles to save her family from a dangerous arms dealer when she discovers the plans to a secret weapon in the body of a snarky, cybernetic cat, who turns out to a be a CIA spy.

You can see the full list of winners here. As well as a post on my mentor's website, about my small victory.

Working on Frank Miller's Whiteout

So apparently, Whiteout, is NOT based off a Frank Miller book. It's in fact written by Greg Rucka. Frank Miller created one of the variant covers, hence my confusion.
