George Slanger's Website
Welcome to my website.   I am  a retired college English teacher and assisting priest at All Saints Episcopal Church in Minot, using this site to share some of the writing I have done over the years and some that  I am doing now.  I launched this version of the site in January, 2004. It is mounted on the mac.com server and composed in Seamonkey.

Recent developments:

March 27, 2009: Posted recent versions of all 14 chapters of the memoir (plus intro and epilogue). All links appeared viable. Proofreading is most welcome I plan to "clean up" this draft before proceeding to serious rewriting.

June 5, 2009: Posted "Cuthbert's Bones," a kind of "epic verse play" in the form of a conversation around a campfire among four brothers in northern England in the 9th century. The protagonist is "Farfox," who is imagined as a monk on Lindesfarne when Bishop Cuthbert died in 687. Most of this was written in the 1990's. In 1995, Joanne and I traveled to England to visit Lindesfarne and stayed overnight there.

Stirring quotation:

Woke up early this morning
With a lot things on my mind.
                  Bob Dylan
