About the Architect, Dom Paul Bellot | See map of medieval Quarr Abbey

The benches in the
Chapter House were
made by ‘Mousey’
Thompson, the famous
wood-carver from Kilburn
in North Yorkshire. Robert
Thompson’s trade mark was a
small hand-carved mouse which
can be found on every item he made
and signifies ‘industry in quiet places’.
