The Association of Yachting Historians has been established by a group of interested yacht clubs but membership is open to all involved in research into yachting history be they individuals, clubs and class associations, museums, libraries and archives with relevant holdings and media and other organisations with maritime interests.

Objectives
• To further research into the history of yachting, yacht racing and yacht design.

• To encourage the preservation of records in club and other private collections and to identify ways of making these accessible where possible.

• To facilitate the exchange and dissemination of information between members.

• To foster links between organisations involved in yachting history.
