Are you interested in monastic life as a way of life for you?

The life of a Benedictine monk at Quarr Abbey is in many ways very simple. At Quarr Abbey we seek to live and proclaim the gospel by our lives. We aim to be like the first Christian community as described in the Book of the Acts of the Apostles:

“they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers ...And all who believed were together and had all things in common; and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God” (Act 2, 42-47)

We have come together to form a community that works together in order to have time to praise the Lord, to celebrate the Mass and to read the Holy Scriptures: in a word, to know Christ Jesus.

Our day is very balanced. We celebrate the liturgy with care and dignity according to our tradition. Our daily Timetable
