This site is dedicated to Sci-Fi Model Building. About 80% of the models that I build are intended for sale at my dealer table. Of course, there are always some that I find myself unable to part with!
My focus has typically been on Star Trek and Star Wars but I occasionally venture into other Sci-Fi themes such as the Back to the Future DeLorean and more recently, the re-released Battlestar Galactica kits have caught my attention.
The photo galleries contain early works as well as current projects that will (hopefully) show a progression in workmanship. Other sections will showcase models on the work bench as well as the works of other local modelers.
UPDATES!
Looking forward to Round 2's release of the 1/1000 scale refit Enterprise and the Vulcan Shuttle coming in December 2009!
On The Bench: Started detail painting the Klingon Bird of Prey.
Star Wars: The Vader TIE/Luke X-Wing chase scene is finished.
Convention Pics: Wizard World NYC and Chiller Theatre with the cast of Warehouse 13, Helen Slater, Erick Avari, Sean Young, Davy Jones, Howard Hessman, Stephanie Powers and more.
Testing The Prisoner: We have the final copy formatted for trade paperback. We've made some changes to the cover (see right). We are also looking at a complete variation of the cover being created right now. Once we decide on the cover, the entire package goes to the printer and we should have a proof copy by Thanksgiving. We will then send about 12 copies out to industry journals for review. The book will premiere at Farpoint in February (see Event listing below). The estimated release date to Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com is 15 March.
Firebringer Press is owned by long time friend and incredibly talented writer, Steven H. Wilson. Steve and his family have been involved in sci-fi fandom since the days of ClipperCon and OktoberTrek and Steve is a former con chair of Farpoint. In my humble opinion, Steve and his family personify fandom in the Maryland/D.C. area and I am deeply honored to be published by someone who has been a mentor to me since my early days of fan fiction.
Steve, who has also written for DC Comics, is the director of the award winning Prometheus Radio Theatre where he, along with a cast of talented voice actors, perform original audio shows from science fiction, horror and fantasy genres.Steve is also the author of Taken Liberty, a novel based on the characters from his original SF audio show, The Arbiter Chronicles. Taken Liberty was published in 2006 by Firebringer Press. It is available in paperback from Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. You can also listen to Taken Liberty in audio at Podiobooks.com.
