Black Box

Jose and Frank at alt.coffee explained the black box or "Auto Livello". It has a
transformer and a couple of relays in it, and performs the function of receiving electrical signals from various sensors around the machine to turn components on or off.
-'EV Caricamento' stands for refill valve.
-'Pompa' is the pump.
-'Resistenza' is the heating element.
-'Micro Serbatoio' is the switch under the water tank.
-'LIV' stands for the electrode in the boiler that detects water level.

The Auto Livello
White Box and Pump
The white box is a solid state relay. (It has a green light that turns on and off at the same time as the external indicator does.) It is used to switch the heating on and off. It's a buffer switch between the relay and the heating element. This way the pressurestat and the relay in the Auto Livello are protected from being burnt out by the high electric current.
Wiring scheme:
A1 -> black - AC terminal
A2 -> blue - pressurestat
L1 -> black - heating element
T1 -> black - "Giemme" black box (water level control)
...Of The Boiler
The right hand side of the boiler, as seen from the rear, has three connections. Clockwise from about the three o'clock position are:
-connection to the grouphead
-connection to the hot water wand
-connection to water supply
