NINA KOLTNOW (fused glass jewelry)
Nina Koltnow is a full time math teacher who has always
balanced her analytical inclination with involvement in the
arts. She has extensive experience in music,
ceramics, quilting, and fused glass fabrications.
With Cindy Reuben she is cofounder of Laughing Glass
Studio, a creative endeavor that produces contemporary
fused glass jewelry and home accents."
CINDY REUBEN (Fused glass jewelry)
Cindy Reuben has been creating beautiful fused glass
jewelry and home decor items since 1999. As Laughing Glass
Studio she and her best friend, Nina Koltnow, joined
creative forces and work together to design and produce
stunning art pieces that are sold at juried craft shows,
festivals and small boutiques. When not creating art Cindy
is either hard at work as a health statistician for the
federal government or at home raising her two daughters and
caring for a small menagerie.
SUE STOCKMAN (mosaics, silk painting)
Sue Stockman is one of the most sought-after teaching
artists on the Maryland State Arts Council roster. Her own
jewelry/art, mosaics and sculpture are exhibited throughout
the Mid-Atlantic region, and reside in collections
worldwide. Her popular classes and workshops encourage
personal creativity and growth on many levels. She is
famous for encouraging the use of recycled materials and
raising environmental awareness in her work with students
of all ages. Her group mosaic creations are on display at
dozens of schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic
region.

Other local artists will lead half-day workshops for our
2009 campers in their own studio settings.
Camp
Director
BUSY
GRAHAM has devoted the past three decades to education and
the arts. She graduated with a degree in Music and
French from the University of Vermont after work and study
abroad in Europe and North Africa. She taught at
Carolina Friends School and was the director of Arthur
Morgan School in Celo, North Carolina before beginning her
career in arts management and administration. In
1985, Busy founded Five Corners Music, a national booking
and management agency. From 1995-1998, she served as
Executive Director of the Institute of Musical Traditions,
during which time she founded Class Acts, an educational
and community arts outreach project that soon evolved into
one of the region’s most respected non-profit arts
organizations. Busy served as executive director of Class
Acts Arts until 2005, launching numerous initiatives
including Project Youth ArtReach (serving youth in
correctional settings), Hoop & Holler for Health
(arts-based programs in the schools, promoting better
health and nutrition), Carpe Diem Choral Arts Residency
Project, and several public performance series:
Kaleidoscope Family Performance Series, Jump Start with the
Arts (for pre-school age children), plus the Arts Alive
Series in collaboration with Montgomery College. In
2006, Busy received a Certificate of Honor from the
Smithsonian Discovery Theater for a “Legacy of 20 Years of
Excellence in Service to the Art and Education of Young
People.” In 2004, she received the Community Award for
Excellence in the Arts and Humanities at the Montgomery
County Executive's Ball for the Arts. Busy is currently
working as a consultant to numerous non-profit arts and
social service organizations in Montgomery County and on
the Eastern Shore of Maryland and serves on the board of
several arts-based organizations.
