Taliban Closes Down Night ClubKABUL -- Afghanistan's ruling Taliban regime Saturday raided a downtown Kabul night club citing obscene indecency on the part of its female performers. Patrons of Klub Kabul, a northside gentleman's club, were detained and beaten for their attendance. "The harlots were dancing on the stage in seductive ways not becoming for a woman according to the writings of Muhammed," said Afghani officer Mullah Al Rahif. "Hormones are a dangerous temptor of man." Taliban officers broke through the door while women on stage lifted their robes, exposing their ankles while doing dances including the Jitterbug and the Charleston. One of the men in attendance had paper money in his hand while sitting along the stage. When the woman came closer, she undid her veil just slightly showing a portion of her neck. The man, satisfied, stuffed the dollar bill into the strap on her sandal. One man purchased a polaroid photograph of himself sitting next to a bare ankle. "It's absolute filth," Rahif said. "This kind of club is a scourge on our society." |
