Airport Security Remains TightWASHINGTON -- Federal Aviation Administration rules remain tight for pre-boarding practices at America's airports. Security measures at airports include searches of carry-on bags. Confiscations in recent weeks included tweezers and nail clippers. Recent intelligence shows that a new wave of terrorism could include the use of tweezers and nail clippers to hijack airplanes. Materials seized after Sept. 11 show that terrorists plan to pluck eyebrows as means to gain access to the cockpit. Once in the cockpit, they plan to cut the pilots fingernails super short. Enrique Martinez, a security staff member at an east coast airport said the threat is real. "When you cut your nails too short, it hurts pretty bad," Martinez said. "That's without even mentioning what it does to your nose picking ability." |
