Q: What is the purpose of your show? A: Entertainment, enjoyment and wonder. Q: What do you mean? A: Well, quite frankly, children are losing their sense of wonder at the world around them. Q: Is that important? A: Wonder is the beginning of learning. Wonder leads to curiosity, curiosity to exploration, exploration to the development of innate abilities. That is why I like people to explore the magic of their minds. Q: What is it that you do? A: I present a show in the form of a lecture demonstration of optical illusions and their use in understanding the basic ways our minds perceive the world. I use mental magic in tandem with demonstrations of interesting scientific devices to help the audience look at the world with fresh eyes. Q: Mr. Dalu; do you think this outlook is the most important part of learning? A: Reading is the most important part of learning, every educator should know that. As for the format, I chose edutainment, which seems quite appropriate in this age of media expansion. Q: What do you expect a student to get out of your show? A: A chance to see some things they have never seen before, hear things they have never heard before and think about things they may have never thought of before. If you can read you can do anything. Youre smarter than you think you are. | ||
