112 Eatery for Appetizers after the India Opening

Eventhough we knew that there would not be too much to eat at the India Opening, time just crept up on us and we weren't able to eat dinner before the Opening. So by 10:30pm we were starving and all we had eaten were a couple of minature spicy somozas. 112%20Eatery.png
After we left, it was close to 11pm and there are not a lot of places open at this time. We decided on 112 Eatery and assumed that at this late dinner hour it would not be too full. How wrong we were. The place was packed and lively. We were incredibly fortunate, because someone had just cancelled on one of the tables that look onto the street. We decided to eat a whole bunch of appetizers rather than choosing an entree (maybe not the smartest choice). We asked for a couple of glasses of malbec, montes, colchagua valley, chile 2006, and proceeded to check the menu. Eventually we settled for sweet & sour crab salad, boston bibb w/ fine herb vinaigrette, blue prawns w/ rooster mayo, pan-fried gnocchi w/ parmesan reggianoand and an order of fries. Oh and for desert we had the chocolate pot de crème.
Yes, I kow. This was one big melange of flavours and textures, some of which did not go very together. Of everything we ordered, I thought that the Sweet & Sour Crab Salad, with hints of Thai flavours, was very good. The blue Prawns were also very good. On the other hand, the fries were dissapointing. The service was good, as always.
