The Story so Far (the story really starts on the index page, if you missed it, click.)
All of these images, unless otherwise indicated, were scanned from black and white 35mm negatives on Kodak Plus-X 120 Pro film 5062. For the longest time I've had a pinging compulsion to write about Frank Zappa but it hasn't happened due to the seriousness of the aspiration and a deficiency on my part to take on additional long term commitments especially those which require negotiations with others. The aspiration is to see Frank get some real high level prestigious musical recognition from some important foundation and to be acknowledged for his sociopolitical importance in the development of American culture by some equally important organization in that department. This would need to be published in an esteemed magazine. Anyway, the resurrection of these images was going to be included in that project. These photographs were taken in the Zappa home on the same occasion. Some of the negatives have not faired well with time and there was a problem with make-up combined with a projector that was used as part of the lighting--bright projected light on make-up too white made these images unusable at the time. So they are going through some pretty extensive Photoshop processes. It is my desire to create something new and different--importantly improved. For this reason, and some other more philosophical ones, I've chosen the word resurrection as opposed to restoration. A few images will show up on this site but this is not really a web project; it's one for print. I'm not quite sure on how involved this will get and I'm equally unsure of the destiny of the work I'll do. all images © 1988-2003

Special
Tribute Here's a special homage for two people who one would say were very different. I grew up with both these guys and while I enjoyed them for divergent reasons I enjoyed them nonetheless. Go crack a few jokes with Frank, would ya Johnny?
