I now have a Freedom Pass. That answers the first question. Any daydreams of zapping around England on local buses have been temporarily shelved, best left to journalists and those whose constitutions are sturdy enough to face a few weeks of bed and breakfasts, plus many hours of waiting at bus stops in the freezing rain.
