Secondary Power Distribution Box

SeaFit Waterproof Connection Box - $38.00

Four 8 AUG power cables from the main power distribution center are routed to the secondary distribution box under located under the center console. This secondary distribution center is needed so that all of the front end powered devices can be attached in an orderly fashion, preventing rats nest of wires to wade through when something goes wrong or an addition/change is required.

In addition to the four main power cables, there is also a 6 AUG heavy gauge ground cable run to this location to better help provide clean power to the auxiliary system components. Along with the power feeds, there are 4 small gauge return wires. One wire is used to monitor the main battery voltage via the main power distribution voltmeter, and the other three are used to energize the rack mounted lights main power relays (located back near the main power distribution box).

12V AUX accessory power outlet
Marinco Premium Receptacle - $16

With the Kenwood TM-D700 faceplate sitting in front of the OEM 12V power outlets, making them inaccessible, a new outlet had to be added. Inside the center console lock box is a cutout for what should have been a factory 12V outlet. Adding a heavy duty Marinco 12V power receptacle was as simple matter of cutting away the inset (with your favorite motor tool) mounting the outlet, and running power from the center console secondary distribution power.
