Our company has many reasons to celebrate and be thankful as we enter the 21st Century not the least of which is our sponsorship of the Bacardi Limited Biennial. This year we also celebrate 35 years residency in Bermuda and this provides us with an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to support the pursuit of excellence in fine arts as exemplified through this wonderful exhibition. This is a singularly appropriate year when we wish to dedicate the Biennial to the late José M. Bosch, a former President of a number of the Bacardi Companies, who was responsible for establishing our company in Bermuda and for the construction of the Bacardi Building. Mr. Bosch believed that this unique building projects an all-important image of the company. Commencing with the large mural depicting a Cuban landscape and the dramatic illuminated fountain, to the works of art from both sides of the Atlantic that enhance the interior, he ensured that the Bermudian community and employees are constantly challenged to appreciate the pursuit of excellence in art expressed in many forms. "We never looked back after our move from Nassau... the company has felt that as a good citizen it must invest some of its time and money in helping the community. Only in this way can it achieve the satisfaction of being part of that community and contributing towards the future well-being and stability of Bermuda and its people." José Bosch, The Royal Gazette, August 6, 1975
