| I am an oil painter. I use big, thick, juicy swabs of paint applied with a knife. Rather than achieving the sharp, clear image of an instant, I strive for that dream-like quality that may be found in the rustle of a sailboat's flag, moving waves or a person ambling in the shadow of a sidewalk. |
