artist statement
Ubiquitous natural beauty, as in the rugged coast of Bermuda, becomes extraordinarily compelling when the observer learns to see the detail that exists all around him again, for the first time, without assumption or precondition — a necessary relief in this age of information overload. This thesis, first explored in drawing, forms the basis of my work in painting and sculpture.
