The Memorabilia Place
-With almost all The Office memorabilia listed!

All of these have randomly come with the releases of the series in the past, so to answer the most common questions, no, you can’t buy them anywhere, and no, I’m not selling mine.

The Note Pad

Yes, top of the list comes the note pad. Arguably the most boring of all the crap you might have stumbled across, the note pad is just the image of David Brent, on about 50 pages it looks like. Get used to seeing that picture by the way.

It has no quote, that illegible writing is merely plugging the first series DVD.

My rating: 0.5

The Daily Mail special offer DVD

Coming out just before the first series video and DVD release, this DVD of the first episode and ten minutes of the documentary was free with the paper in London, but you had to collect vouchers and go to Woolworth's or somewhere in the rest of the country. Almost entirely pointless, I keep mine about just because it would be more hassle to chuck away. Although it was really exciting for the few days when it was the only release of The Office about.
My rating: AB negative

The pen and pencil

So ordinary as to not warrant being depicted in their entirety.
The plus side of these items, is that they would fit in nicely into an office environment, thus giving the items a symbolism and duality that few will truly appreciate. However, do not be confused by the many levels on which they can interpreted as artistic works, for they are just writing implements, and don’t even count as two separate entries. I will tell of how I came to own a pencil in a moment, but the pen was chucked in my bag when I bought the first series DVD at HMV, along with the next item.

My rating: C+

The window sticker

I haven’t stuck the sticker anywhere, so to stop the picture being all backwards, I had to cleverly flip the image horizontally. Doing this tied up my computer for an entire weekend, so I hope you can appreciate the effort that has gone into creating this wonderful pictorial representation you see to your left.
What's most entertaining about this piece, is that they ran out of room for the "... probably an entertainer third." quote, so they’ve opted for the more succinct "You’ve charmed me."
It also has that same bloody picture of Brent that appears on everything, and a plug for the first series on video and DVD.

My rating: 54%

The mug

The mug, as far as I know, only can be obtained from WHSmiths, when buying the video or DVD, although you can buy a mug free version for a couple of quid less. It’s a normal mug size, the rest you can get from the pics.

My rating: Brentastic

The badge

The badge looks exactly the same as the window sticker, even the same quote, but it’s a badge. There really is no need for me to put up a photo of it, but I will, I will. (note to self, re-write this bit)

My rating: 1 in 10, seems a bit high

The ruler

Came from the same mysterious place as the pencil and notepad, and the impedingly reviewed (if that makes sense?) mouse mat. I hope by now you don’t need me to decipher the illegible text on the image above.

My rating: 4

The mouse mat

One of the larger images on this page, and one of the better items.
I don't know how you can go wrong in the production of a mouse mat, and they certainly haven't found a way with this item.
As to the source of the mouse mat, notepad, pencil and ruler, well, I might get in trouble for revealing this, but what the hell. The way I have interpreted the situation, with the facts I've been given, is that the BBC would like their DVDs to get really good reviews, so they send out a few sweeteners, or "promotional items" with each new released DVD or video or book or whatever. And so through a friend of a friend of a relative of someone else's friend etc. I was given the above free items. I'd like to stress that the BBC has never officially recognized my site or sent me anything, but I can take such rejection in my stride.
Back to the point though, it's a great little item. Worth every penny.

My rating: alpha

The calendar

I’ve saved the best ‘til last. And why not.
Along with the pen and window sticker, HMV offered a version of the DVD with a 14-month Office calendar for only an extra pound. Why fourteen months? Well, series one came out halfway through October, and so the first two months of this calendar are November and December 2002. There are no quotes or references to the first series coming out, but there are 14 very nice little pictures of the series 1 cast. As shown above, it’s not just the four main characters who get a look in, but also Malcolm, Keith, Finchy and Ricky.
Just to make it clear, the 15 certificate refers to the DVD, not the calendar.
Sorry if I couldn't think of some witty dry comment to stick in about this one. Although given the choice I’d rather have got the mug from WHSmiths.
