in association with Blackstar.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk, who both ship worldwide! This page lists items of direct relevance to Stella Street. You can find further material on Phil, John and Peters individual pages, and the You may also enjoy page. VHS (DVDs are below) Series one, two and three of Stella Street are available in the UK on VHS (PAL format). The videos are the TV episodes, edited together to run continuously. Series one contains some additional footage (mainly interviews with Mrs Huggett). Series two comprises the original 15 minute episodes, not the reedited 10 minute episodes shown in November 1999 on BBC2. The recut episodes contained a little extra footage, but much material was cut and the plot was harder to follow. Series 3 contains the 10 minute episodes segued together, with no extra footage. Click on a video cover below to go to Blackstar.co.uks page for that video.
Series 3 (PAL format) The videos are in PAL format, so will only play correctly in PAL system decks or dual standard decks. Americans take note! Series 4 is not yet available on VHS.
Series 3 (Region 2, PAL format, widescreen (non-anamorphic, but it does have a brilliant menu!)) Sign the DVD petition! Send an email here if you would be interested in buying a DVD with Stella Street series 1 and 2 on. Once I have a good few names, I will pass on the response to Vision Video and see if I can get anything happening. Thanks for all I've had so far; it's a great help. Another way of helping is to buy the series 3 DVD! Nothing speaks louder than money to these people! Series 4 is not yet available on DVD. CD
Books There are far too many books on comedy to list them (let alone read them), so I will give you a good starting point. If youve come to this site, you probably (?) like British TV comedy generally, so you will definitely like the Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy by Mark Lewisohn. This is a comprehensive encyclopaedia of British TV comedy from year dot to 1997, and includes a review of series one of SS, albeit a lukewarm one. Lewisohns opinions, however mind-blowingly wrong they may be, are always worth reading and the research behind this book is exemplary. Take a closer look here. Now available at a reduced price, about £7.50 IIRC. Get it while you can! Lets Go Shopping Dont get Michael to drive you to Asda in Kingston; get everything you need from the sites below, without even leaving your desk/pit of your own filth! If youre searching for a deleted video, or anything else, why not try eBay. Youll be surprised how easily you can get sidetracked. There are some real bargains too! The Stella Street Page is an associate of Blackstar.co.uk, Amazon.co.uk and eBay. This means that if you follow these links, I will get 5% of the purchase price (or a small fee if you sign up to eBay). The money I make from this is spent improving the page. |
