On September 30 1999, I was fortuitous enough to visit the set of Stella Street. As Michael Caine once said (dons ginger wig and 60s-style NHS spectacles), All the people Ive met in show biz have been really nice, and this is certainly true for the cast and crew of this show, who could not have been friendlier or more approachable. Whilst there, I took not nearly enough photos of the filming of series 3, most of which I shall now present. Nº 1: The basis behind Stella Street is that all the parts are played by two actors. However, observant viewers will have noticed that, in order to give the illusion of there always being many people on set, Peter Richardson shoots over the shoulders of the characters being addressed. Clearly, John and Phil cannot be talking to themselves, so who are the others? They are these guys, the unsung heroes of Stella Street (well, them and Sandra Cush, who plays Sally, and Rebecca, who knows what everyones meant to say).
