Method
Saute onion and carrot in oil in a medium saucepan 3 minutes or until soft; add rosemary sprigs and stir in ground lamb and cook until meat loses its pinkness; pour off excess fat.
Add beef gravy, bottled steak sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, salt, and pepper; mix together well. Spoon meat mixture into a 10-cup casserole. Spread hot mashed potatoes evenly over meat; score with a fork; brush with egg. Bake in moderate oven (375degF) 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
Sprinkle with finely chopped parsley or watercress just before serving.
