Star Wars
has been known to inspire a zeal among its fans not unlike what is experienced
by deeply devout religious practitioners who quote scripture from memory
and meditate on its hidden meanings. For an old and new generation of
fans, Star Wars has become more than a cultural icon that evokes universal
recognition around the world. These films have also become the modern
means for a religious experience on a scale no less significant than that
traditionally found in the sacred stories and myths of temples, churches, shrines and mosques. |

If one looks beyond the superficial exterior of Star Wars, they may find other examples of great wisdom within the story. It is a wisdom that speaks to every heroes journey because it strikes a harmonious chord within us; the religious experience. We all seek to find peace, conquer our fear and find others to help us on our journey. It is like the realization that comes to Luke as a still small voice speaking within him: "The Force will be with you, always." |
