Fellowship
Global
In the attempt to integrate East and West, eastern practices (Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, etc.) will be combined with western religious services (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc). And to balance everything out, plenty of time will be spent in the company of my skeptic, atheist, humanist, Dances for Peace and Bahá'í friends.
As part of my global social action, I will partake in social service activities affiliated with peace and global citizenship.

Local
Service
Attend Local community events in Middletown and central Connecticut every month.
My community service is working monthly with Food Not Bombs; an all-volunteer global movement that shares free vegetarian meals as a protest to war and poverty. Read more about this service here. There is a great animation at www.foodnotbombs.net that expresses the essence of the movement.

Film
Current books I'm reading:
11.29.09 - Metropolis at Cinestudio - Got to see a great 20's movie at the Cinestudio theater at Trinity College. Fascinating film with a lot of symbolism and subject matter I could blog about for pages. The most interesting aspect of the movie were the parallels between the story and the way our world is structured. There are those who say the West is powered by the resources from the East just as the wealthy and indifferent owners of the cities in the film are powered by the suffering workers living below.
