Oh for God's sake: Another reason I could never run for office...or be a "czar" in any administration

Because my animal rights beliefs=terrorism, crazy, anti-patriotic...I don't really know, but according to Glenn Back, it's bad...BAD I tell you.

I'm not sure why I'm pointing you to this article on Slate.com about how Glenn Beck is going after legal scholar Cass Sunstein because of some animal rights oriented arguments he has made.

The article's real value is that it lays out, however briefly, some of Sunstein's cogent arguments for animal rights. (Although I should add that Sunstein certainly doesn't go "all the way" with his own animal rights beliefs, and might be considered an animal welfarist by some.)

But leaving all that aside: Sunstein's gig in the Administration has nothing to do with animal issues at all. Just as Van Jones's gig had nothing to do with national security. but now we've apparently decided that we can't leverage anyone's skills for their country unless we agree with every other position, thought, belief they have, no matter how unrelated it might be.

Is this really what we all want? Is it really what the Republicans want the next time they've got a person in the White House. Or do they simply believe that the Left will be too wimpy to go to these irrational extremes just to thwart the winner when he or she is on the other side?

They're probably right.

And I don't know whether to be sad or glad about that.
