My idea for Obama

If you are so inclined, can you help it get to the second round?

Change.org (not to be confused with the President-elect's own Change.gov) is collecting transformative ideas to present to the new President on Inauguration Day. They are collecting ideas across a diverse set of topics, of which I would venture to guess "Animal Rights" is not the most popular.

People suggest ideas, and then others can vote for them. Ultimately the top ideas in each category will be presented. So, I assume that despite animal rights not being as high on the list to most people as subjects like heath care or the environment, at least the top ideas from every category will make it through.

I have proposed an idea that, to my mind, actually crosses subjects and is about animal rights, health care and the environment! I think we need a PSA campaign to educate people on the connections between how we eat and both our own and the planet's health.

It's really the trifecta of motivations: your health, the planet's health, plus a more compassionate and humane lifestyle as the bonus. I really wanted to propose an idea that was positive...showing every day people what they can do, and why it is really good for them to do.

Apparently my idea currently needs 35 votes to make it to the second round. Doesn't sound like that much, right? So, if you're at all intrigued by the idea, I hope you will vote. And if you've submitted your own idea, please let us all know in the comments!
