Jane Fonda still has the power to make you sit up and take notice


Blogging, twittering and comparing her throat to a vagina

Over on my theatre blog I let everyone know that Jane Fonda is the latest blogging and twittering convert.

This week she showed that she still has the power to surprise and provoke, with her post: Today's Personal Deep Throat Revelation

Wherein the comparison between throats and vaginas fly by, fast and furious.

It is not shocking in and of itself to talk about vaginas. it is neither profane nor pornographic. What is surprising is that Ms. Fonda has found blogging to be the kind of place where she is ready, willing and able to share some of her more in-the-moment thoughts that would surely never make it into either a press release or a memoir.

She really looks to be embracing the medium, for which I cannot help but congratulate her...humming vagina and all.
