I think it's kind of brilliant!

Read all about a proposed bill to give tax breaks to pet owners over on BlogHer.

Having pets contributes to better health and the infamous happiness we are all entitled to pursue. It can also instill in people, especially impressionable children, empathy, compassion and responsibility.

Why not encourage that? And why not help people avoid losing those family members during these tough economic times?
