Depends on how you define "fierce advocate" BO.


Obama answers critics of his choice to have anti-gay Rick Warren give the invocation at inauguration

He answers by saying (per Yahoo):

America needs to "come together," even when there's disagreement on social issues. "That dialogue is part of what my campaign is all about," he said.Obama also said he's known to be a "fierce advocate for equality" for gays and lesbians, and will remain so.


I have to venture to say that I don't personally define a "fierce advocate for equality" as someone who opposed gay marriage (unless they're talking about abolishing the concept of civil marriage altogether and advocating instead religious "marriage" and civil "partnerships" or "unions".

Is it just me?
