Stupid question: When did the Republicans *take off* their "American hats"??


Because, I never do!

I just have to say, because I forgot to say it 2 nights ago:

When the Republicans canceled most of Monday's convention activities, to not seem politically inappropriate while Hurricane Gustav was threatening the Gulf Coast, they decided to go with the following theme:

"It's time to take off our Republican hats...and put on out American hats."

Like that was supposed to be so noble, and empathetic etc.

And all i could think was: When the hell did you take off your American hats, mothaf*ckahs?????

What a stupid talking point. I mean i could understand it if they were saying it about the Democrats...you know, "they should take off the Democrat hats and put on their American hats for once, unpatriotic heathen!"

But no, the are admitting that their typical garb is partisan, not patriotic.

Don't get it.
