DVD: Murderball


What's more condescending? Treacly movie-of-the-week looks at the disabled, or movies that ask us to think they're cool if they smoke, curse and have sex?

Here's a review that got away from me, and I forgot to finish the review back when I actually watched the movie almost 2 months ago. So, from memory, I can say that Murderball is an OK movie if you like sports movies. There is always something fascinating about watching fierce competitors, and there are colorful personalities, as there usually are in sports movies.

But my post sub-title says it all. I found it slightly disturbing how impressed or, I don't know, relieved, we were supposed to feel because, look! They can be rowdy stupid jerks just like the "normal" people.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.
