Taqueria Los Charros in downtown Mt. View

Great, affordable, off-the-beaten-path taqueria in the midst of downtown

I've eaten in downtown Mt. View countless times. I've eaten Mexican food down there often. But I haven't strayed very far past Fiesta Del Mar or occasionally Casa Lupe.

Last night, thanks to Brendan Wilson and his wife Ashley, I was introduced to Taqueria Los Charros. It's just a block off of Castro Street on Dana, but somehow I've never even noticed it before. Too bad.

It's an unpretentious and highly affordable place to grab a quick, authentic Mexican meal.

They offer a broad number of choices and let you order them Regular, Super and Wet (yes, we had a lot of fun with that option!)

And their vegetarian burrito (Wet, of course) was very yummy. I gobbled up my entire burrito, and anyone who's eaten Mexican food with me can tell you I usually do surgery, opening up the burrito and just picking at the insides.

Next time you're downtown, try Taqueria Los Charros. It's a good deal and a good meal.
