Rare, great personal finance blogAnd a discussion of building savings vs. paying
off debt
Most personal finance blogs leave me a bit cold.
Either they seem commercial, or sploggy or dry and boring. Jeffrey Strain's
Personal Finance
Advice is none of the above. Which is ironic because I first found the
blog because he asked me to exchange links with him...usually not a good
sign.
Jeffrey has posted a very thorough explanation of why it's senseless to build savings while still trying to pay off credit card debt. I must admit that I didn't grasp that early in my adulthood, building debt, but feeling it was somehow better to have a few thousand in the account just in case. Of course now I pay off my credit card debt every month, but I do still have a car payment and a house payment. I wonder if Jeffrey would have the same advice on those?
