Kepler's closes!

Seems like a Bay Area institution, done in by high rents and the effects of the dot-bomb bust

Kepler's Book Store closed today. I'm shocked. Kepler's seemed like an institution, and it also seemed to be busy whenever I was there, which admittedly was not too often. Then again I live 25 miles away from it.

My friend Phillip was supposed to have a book signing event there next month. I'm sure he's bummed.

Well, in addition to rents and the dot bomb bust I'm sure the advent of superstores like Barns & Noble and Borders don't help. The indies have trouble in bookselling just like in any other business.

I wonder what will happen to all those books.
