Today's Shuffle: 01/29/05

I think Party Shuffle is Biased Against Party Songs!

Seriously, I've been looking over my Shuffle posts, and the ratio of upbeat, danceable or happy songs that get thrown into iTunes' supposed "Party" Shuffle feature is really low. Even though I freely admit I own fewer Dance/R&B genre albums than perhaps Alternative/Rock genre albums, you'd think when dong the Party Shuffle, they'd try to pull in a nice ratio of tunes from the more partying genres.

But reviewing today's shuffle, it is clear, yet again, that they do nothing of the kind:

Pato & Roger A Go Talk by English Beat
Look Out Any Window by Bruce Hornsby
Love Me by Kami Lyle
You Can Be as Loud as the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love) from the Avenue Q Original Cast Recording [Seriously, you need to listen to Avenue Q!]
Carrickfergus by Van Morrison & The Chieftains
I Don't Need a Hero by Concrete Blonde
Crazy for the Girl by Evan & Jaron
Out the Door by Nina Storey
In the Warm Room by Kate Bush
The Expulsion from the Children of Eden Original Cast Recording

They call it "Party" Shuffle, that's all I'm saying. What kind of party should I throw to match the above Shuffle? I think girls reading Sylvia Plath at too yong an age would be the theme.
