A modern alternative theme song for the Culture of Love
At BlogHer last weekend Nancy White was leading a
movement of women who want to foster a "Culture of Love." Actually, no, I have
no idea what drunken pool-side conversations led to this moniker, nor to them
sitting around a table singing the Beatles "All You Need is
Love."
When I came by I suggested we
could have a theme song just a bit more updated, and tried to remember and sing
a bit of the song "Love" by The Sundays. Unfortunately I could only remember a
teeny little snippet..."Love, love, love...just love yourself like no one
else."
Which they all appreciated, but
since I woefully failed at remembering any other lyrics, they were unwilling to
chuck the Beatles for the Sundays.
So I
present to the Culture of Love now, the full
song.
(BTW-I must admit "All You Need
is Love" came in handy on Saturday morning. When Lisa's audio didn't work for
our opening film I was able to use the power that comes with having a mic in
one's hand to start an "All You Need is Love" sing-along...and yes, that was me
making the trumpet noises.)
Anyway,
enjoy!
