Not exactly a Scrapbook Girl
I started in on this year's pictures tonight -
burned them to CD, went to Walgreen's to get them processed (20 cents a piece if
you have 50 or more- I love the prices there!), and then went to get some 12 by
12 sheet protectors. E always refers to my little picture projects as
scrapbooking, but after briefly joining the local scrapbooking listserve, I'd
have to say I'm far from that mode of
craftiness.
I may go to a crop or too
down the road - I'm sure I'd meet people that way - but I hadn't realized before
delving a little deeper how COMMERCIAL the whole thing is. After looking around
the craft stores, it really is a huge industry now... I LIKE to take pictures,
and I spend a few days each year putting them into albums the old fashioned way
- 12 by 12 pieces of paper, old fashioned black photo corners, lengthy (usually
typed so I can read them later) descriptions so that years later we know what
the pictures are of *grin* But aside from the occasional sticker or new exacto
knife, I just put picture to paper. The sheer number of "accessories" required
at the events they were advertising put me off. But maybe I might take my simple
self to one one of these days - I hope they'll let me in without my wallet :)
We have the inspections tomorrow-
house is out of attorney review - and I can't wait to get in again - hooray!
I'll let E follow the nitty gritty details with the inspector- I need to walk
around the property, hopefully see how much modification the one car garage
needs to be used as a barn, maybe measure for fencing, and of course take lots
of pictures! We close December 6th, and can stay here till the 19th, so I had a
slow and steady move planned...but now I just want to haul over all of our stuff
on the 6th and move right in...ok, ok, maybe a day or two later so we can get
the pasture fences up, but still - I can't wait to move to our new, hopefully
forever!, home!
