Busy Day in the Kitchen!

The basil was made into pesto - half is freezing and I used the other half, with lots of added parmesan, to spread on thing slices of italian bread, then I topped those with thing slices of the brandywine tomato at the bottom of the pic and some mozzarella - mini pizzas :)

The San Marzanos I cooked down and made one half pint can for the pantry, and the zuchinni is as yet undecided...

We went out and picked tow more ears of corn when E's folks and grandma showed up - poor pollination on some of them, and all are pretty small - I think b/c of the intensive planting we did, though the poor pollination is probably due to all the rain. It was soooo good! Can't wait to harvest more.

The zinnias - well, they're just pretty :) I'm disappointed that the deer have massacred my sunflowers but the veggies we're getting (so many!) ease my spirits a bit.

In other news, we are now a pure goat's milk household and loving it. We definitely need another goat or two though so we don't need to buy milk from the store - we drink a lot of milk around here. This may mean selling Darwin and Daisy, since I think we've realized that we want to really focus on the dairy aspect - not just cute goats in general, but I think I'll be able to find them a good home. We'll get anther milking goat first, at any rate - can't sell our pygmy pair yet b/c then poor Daphne would be all by her lonesome.
