Wowowowowowow

I haven't been down the dirt road next door in ages - at least in daylight, and oh my! If only our acreage extended over another 15 feet... I was headed to a big crabapple? tree in the parking lot behind the shops to get a few pounds to make some crabapple jelly (but now that I've tasted them they're pretty darn sweet - def. edible raw if you like tart apples, and good for pie, so I may not make jelly - maybe apple butter, since they seem too tiny to cut into chunks for pie filling) Ideas?

Anyhow, that wasn't the truly amazing part. I look up in the tree and there are table grapes growing - must have escaped his garden ages ago. Not to mention the dirt road is literally lined with pear and apple trees, he has two massive stands of raspberries, even a struggling little red currant bush (I would pick some, but again, not our property and although I don't think he gets out to pick them, he might mind "just because" - y'know?) Ah well - the birds eat well over there. I can't wait to plant our own stand of fruit trees and bushes.... next spring.
