Watch Out for Webs


We are surrounded by spiders lately - E thinks b/c of all the rain. Whatever it is, they're everywhere! The house spiders are a blessing and a curse - they're everywhere and doing some damage to the local meal moth population, but also biting us sometimes since there are so many they end up in the sheets. We have one of these lovely ladies in the garden, entwined in the tomatillos and tomatoes - I've been giving her a wide berth - she's HUGE!

We have another regular who makes her web every night on the old water pump - she's huge too, but brown all over, with a really rotund abdomen.... I'm hoping to ID her at Borders tomorrow night - I'll look in one of their insect guides.

We're off to look at a large berry farm on Saturday - we'll keep you posted! Also, keep your eyes peeled for the new farm website - in progress!
