What a difference a year makes....

Last year we were living in the two room condo...and E bought me a salsa making kit at the little grocery store. We made ONE jar of salsa last year - we must have used tomatoes from our community garden plots - I'm a stickler like that, only canning food we grow ourselves. That one lonesome jar moved with us and we opened it in the fall at a party - nervous as anything that we'd give everyone botulism. This year? Well, this was just tonight!

The year's stash so far - pretty darn impressive, if I do say so myself! We have 6 jars of plain crushed tomatoes, 6 jars of salsa, 1 of salsa verde, 4 jars of jam (mulberry and raspberry), 4 of apple butter, and 4 of dill pickles. Ah - what a lovely sight! Add to that the fresh eggs in our fridge alongside today's fresh milk from Daphne - it's pretty unreal how far we've come in less then a year -it will be a year come mid-September since we moved to our first farm! And if I can brag a little, I think we're pretty good at this farm thing! Keep your eyes open for our first farm website - mama will hopefully help me set it up - sales and info mostly, with a link to this lovely farm journal of course (would that be a flog?).
