The Fence versus the Farmers

It seems to be a draw so far...we rented the auger on Saturday and drilled away, stopping occasionally to remove giant chunks of brick, concrete and steal. In the end, the only injury sustained (2 stitches) was by E when he was trying to pry up a brick with these steel posts we have lying around - note, this was during the 5 minutes I stepped inside to go the bathroom! The trip to the clinic to get stitched up put a halt to the weekend's fence building, as it poured rain all yesterday, and then today we put up three of the five or so panels. There's a jog in the fence-line, and it's far from plumb, but we get better with every fence we build. It should keep the chooks nice and safe, which is all that matters. Hopefully we can get in another hour or so of work each day and have it wrapped up by mid-week so they can venture outside again.

Georgia's room is pretty much complete, just need to hang a few things from the walls, and now I'm excavating the room that will be my office/craft room so I can start in on wee bunnies, compliments of Hillary's pattern, for all my favorite little friends for Easter. There are bills to be filed away first, and then scrap-booking stuff to put on hold - it just doesn't work to sit down and try to organize pictures when I'm not in the mood, even though once I get around to it I'll rue having everything from Thanksgiving on to put away in albums. I'm hoping the wee pattern will help me with the basics of following one, since that's one of my weakest points as far as sewing goes (the other being using the sewing machine!)

Now I'm willing the laundry to go faster so I can get to bed (Gi needs linens for pre-school) and contemplating the possibilities of coconut shortbread - I have a bunch of coconut milk left over from last night's curry and we're almost out of brownies (practically an emergency!) Ciao!
