Established in 1971 by Ellen and Fred Schreiber, E. K. Schreiber Rare Books specializes in continental books printed before 1700. Ellen received her MLS from Simmons College and headed the Union & Public Catalogs Department at Harvard's Widener Library; Fred holds a Ph.D. in Classical Philology from Harvard and taught Classics at CUNY.
We are members of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA), The Bibliographical Society of America (BSA), etc. Our major fields of specialization are:
Early Printed Books, Incunabula, Renaissance Humanism, Early and Important Editions of the Greek & Latin Classics, Early Illustrated Books, Emblem Books, Theology, Early Bibles
